The yeezy world erupted on social media a few days ago, after a close up shot of what was expected to be a NEW Yeezy Boost 550 actually had words etched into the side of them.. The large lined striped Yeezy Boost, which is already causing controversy among Yeezy fans due to it's 'different' and 'unusual' style has caused a stir once again.
This time featuring the words "SPLY 350" in the unique vibrant line, which to us is a HUGE giveaway that the expected 550 Yeezy Boost is actually a reworked 350 2.0. Which has left us wondering what the Yeezy Boost 550 is going to look like?
The actual structure of the shoe itself definitely has similar features to the original Yeezy 350 boost, and certainly isn't a high-top shoe that most of us were expecting from the Yeezy 550, which definitely favours the news that this is actually a 350 2.0. On top of that, the shoe only features a handful of design changes, which are to the heel tab and suede side patch which have both been completely removed and design tweaks to the pattern on the fabric, and tweaks to the height and rise on the sole.
To see what you guys thought, we decided to run a poll on Twitter asking what you thought, whether it was a New Yeezy Boost 350 or 550. It turns out, that the majority of you are expecting this to STILL be a 550 Yeezy Boost despite having the words "SPLY 350" written down the side of the boost.
What do we think? Originally we believed it was a 550 Boost, however since seeing a closer image with "SPLY 350" in the side of the shoe we've since changed our mind. Yes, we do think this is a 2.0 version of the original Yeezy Boost 350. We have to admit though, its quite unlike Kanye to re-do or re-master something, whether that be an item of Yeezy clothing or song, which is probably why the majority still expect this to be a 550 Boost despite the text on the shoe.
What are your thoughts? Is this a Yeezy Boost 550, or a 350 Boost 2.0... Let us know!
As always, we will be providing all retailer information and news for every Yeezy Boost drop, so make sure you're following us on all social media channels for news as it comes.
